WHY A DRUM?
Hand drums are cross cultural, and they carry deep spiritual, ceremonial, and social significance. The rhythms played on hand drums have been used for centuries to connect people to each other, to nature, and to the earth. Many cultures view drumming as a way to communicate with the earth, spiritual realm, mark important events, and express community unity.
The physical connection to the drum—using hands to create rhythms—can feel grounding, as if we are literally connecting to the earth with every beat. Drumming can also serve as a tool for meditation, healing, and self-expression.
What makes my workshops different is that I make sure to honour and spend ample time in the creative process. My sessions are in two parts to give time for the participant to connect with this new extension of their being and the journey they are about to embark on. I offer a dyed option for me to tie dye your hide, multiple hide options of your choice and sizes. My workshops are more personal and accessible! My workshops are generally offered in a host's home or space to create a cozy, intimate environment for their friends and loved ones. The host receives a discounted ticket because of this. If you don't have the space or drive to be the host, let me know! I can easily find other options and offer a workshop for your community.
